Ramon Bauer
Ramon Bauer (*1969) is a population geographer, living and working in Vienna. After early careers in music and web companies (during the 1990s), Ramon studied Geography at the University of Vienna and worked as a research scientist at theWittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital (IIASA, VID/ÖAW, WU), Vienna Institute of Demography (Austrian Academy of Sciences) and as a university assistant at the University of Vienna, Department of Geography and Regional Research, where he coordinated the 4CITIES Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Urban Studies.
Since November 2017, Ramon is responsible for population data, analysis and projections at the City of Vienna (Statistics Vienna, Municipal Department 23 – Economic Affairs, Labour and Statistics). His research interests include urban diversity and population dynamics, spatial demography (of European cities & regions), population projections, global development (migration & human capital) as well as data communication and visualisation.
